DISCONNECTED IN A CONNECTED WORLD
We live in a hyper-connected world, with constant access to communication and information. Messages, calls, notifications and endless updates… and yet we have never felt more disconnected and lonely. The World Health Organisation reports that around 1 in 6 people worldwide regularly experience loneliness, showing that this feeling is now a global reality, not an individual struggle.
Loneliness doesn’t always look like being alone or sitting in silence at home. You can be surrounded by people, in relationships, in conversation, and still feel unseen or out of place. For some, the most intense loneliness happens in a crowded room. There is no single cause of loneliness. Loneliness today is less about physical distance, and more about emotional distance. It can come from feeling unheard, undervalued, disconnected from community, unsure of your identity, or uncertain about where you truly belong in the world.
What we crave isn’t more notifications or endless noise. We crave real connection. People who see us. Spaces where we can be ourselves. Moments that make us feel part of something, not apart from everything.
It is human to want our people. It is human to want our place.
BACK TOGETHER AGAIN
Back Together Again (BTA) is a one-day singing workshop designed to remind people of what it feels like to truly connect. Led by world-renowned vocal coach and choir director Mark De-Lisser, the annual event welcomes people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. People come as they are and there’s no expectation or pressure to perform. Just a space where everyone can breathe, move, laugh, and sing as much as they want – as one.
For the 345 singers who participated (smack dab in the centre of London), it was a rare moment to pause the chaos of everyday life.
To Simply be [together]!
Surrounded by community, held by music, and uplifted by shared joy. BTA creates the kind of connection only possible in a shared physical space. It helps people feel seen, heard, and valued. It reminds us that belonging is not just a hope, but a feeling we create side by side. Together with technologies like Biiah, that connection can be carried further, helping people find their people and their place beyond the room.
MEASURED IMPACT, RENEWED PURPOSE
As attendees sang and connected with each other, Biiah helped capture the positive shift happening in real time.
- +66% improvement in how participants reported feeling after the session
- 4.8/5 average satisfaction rating
- Consistent feedback highlighting joy, confidence, and renewed purpose
Beyond the numbers, the emotional and spiritual impact was undeniable. Participants shared stories of healing, release, and genuine transformation. In their own words:
“This was my first time attending and, my goodness, what an event it was! Pure joy and healing through song. The songs were excellent, Mark and the team were so organised, professional, and welcoming. I loved every second of this. Hearing all of the vocal section come together creating this incredible sound was almost spiritual. I started the day feeling tired and sluggish; I ended the day practically floating! Loved, loved, loved it and will 100% be back next year!”
“Having had the worst 9 months of my life thus far, I was ready to sing it out! Singing with others is one of the most joyful things in my life and the session at Back Together Again will keep my emotions buoyant for days”
“An exceptional day of singing. As a sheet music reader it really challenged me to get back using my ears to learn things. The day was an unexpectedly emotional rollercoaster as when we looked at fix you and asked what it means to us, it was very hard as I have only recently lost my father. Having said that, I cried all the way through learning the song BUT found it emotionally healing to do so. By the time we ran all the songs at the end I was able to fully sing with my whole self and belt out those emotions without tears. Such a healing moment.”
“Today was a wonderful day. I enjoyed it immensely and as someone currently receiving chemotherapy and treatment for arthritis/ autoimmune disorders- I was able to move more and burn more calories. Emotionally I felt connected with others and truly valued. These things are so incredibly valuable and I feel amazing and extremely grateful to have been able to access the day. Thank you x”
These experiences feel incredible, but when we measure them, we can prove their value. The data shows what changed. The reflections show why it matters. Together, they help us understand the full impact of collective singing, both emotionally and physically.
WE ALL NEED OUR PEOPLE & PLACE
Singing together is one of the most powerful tools we have for human connection. It synchronises our breath, our voices, even our heartbeats. It strengthens confidence, reduces stress, and reminds us that we are not alone. When voices unite, something shifts inside us. We feel part of something bigger. We feel like we belong.
This is the heart of Back Together Again. A day where strangers become a choir, individuals become a community, and music becomes a shared language of joy, release, and healing. Biiah’s role in this partnership is to show you the impact. To measure what changes when people gather to sing and show why experiences like BTA are not just meaningful, but essential.
Because when we can show the impact, we can grow the impact. We can bring more people into these rooms. We can create more spaces where connection isn’t rare or hard to find, but a natural part of life.
And with every voice that joins in, we move one step closer to a world where people feel connected again.
UNTIL WE’RE BACK TOGETHER AGAIN
BTA may come once a year, but the connection it creates should not end when the music stops.
With Biiah, you can carry that feeling into everyday life, in your local singing group, workplace choir or any event where voices come together. The joy, confidence, and sense of belonging found at BTA can continue to grow long after the day is done.
Stay connected. Keep singing. Keep feeling like you are part of something bigger.
We will see you again next year!
Until then, let’s keep the chorus going with Biiah.
