Biiah CEO and Co-Founder, Xann Schwinn made it through to the finals of the Music Tectonics’ Annual Music Tech Pitch Competition “Swimming with Narwhals“, presented by BandLab; competing against 9 other semifinalists in the Degy World Metaverse on 18 October 2021, for a share of up to $50,000 invested by Caldecott Ventures, BandLab CEO Meng Ru Kuok’s investment fund.

On 26 October, Xann pitched Biiah’s app Biiah against three strong finalists: FanLabelInfinite Album and Playhead, and brought home not just the Audience Choice award, but the Jury’s Choice as well!

It’s exciting to see a woman founder win for the second year in a row! Keep an eye on what happens for Biiah. Xann has a big mission to bring music making to everyone!

Pitch Finals host Dmitri Vietze

Xann said “We are thrilled about winning both the Jury choice and Audience choice of the Music Tectonics 2021 Pitch Competition. I enjoyed every second of this competition, and boy what a wild first experience in the metaverse!

Events like these, in 2021 in particular, showcase the pace at which the music tech space is growing. I am constantly inspired by the startup founders I meet in this space.

A huge thank you to my rock solid team Biiah for getting us here. To the audience for being so engaging and enthusiastic about what we’re building. And of course, to the jury and BandLab Technologies for supporting this platform for music tech startups to take the next leap in their journeys.

Watch this space as we continue on our mission to make music education accessible to everyone!

Xann Schwinn, Co-Founder and CEO Biiah
